
The next release from Apple: the Model-i family wagon.
The iPhone is almost unheralded in its brand recognition and the ubiquity of its appeal. In a world where individuality and setting oneself apart by having your own ‘style’ is almost an obsession with early adopters, the iPhone somehow manages to cut across every strata of society and sub-culture, to remain an object of intense desire amongst trend-setters worldwide. From the ultra-chique nightclub set in their little black dresses, to the tweed-wearing, moustachioed steampunk enthusiast pedalling to work on his ‘fixie’ bicycle, everyone wants an iPhone.
Which is strange, considering the uniformity of the design. They come in two colours: black and white. The iPhone 4 did not even have detachable covers available on release, with which you can apply your own mark of individuality to the device, but that didn’t stop Apple moving over 3 million units (in the USA alone) in their first three weeks of sales.
